Today there is a poll on msnbc.com, I saw it because it was posted on reddit. The question was:
Do you believe President Bush's actions justify impeachment?
The results was considerably in favour for the yes.
But I forgot the tab open.. later at home I did a refresh, I was curious about the developments. The first thing I noticed is are the results percentages, they were exactly the same. I can't recall exactly what was the vote count the first time, but I'm pretty sure it's more than a thousands less.
So I started refreshing, I was stunned. The vote count was getting higher every minutes but the percentages were the same.
Don't get me wrong, I don't like Bush. But I like my media sources to be fair and balanced. Can somebody give me a logical reason why a poll results should not be live ? Even if there is a really good reason for it, isn't "Live vote" misleading .. or plain lie ?
Of course, maybe everybody are voting exactly in the same time/ratio..
I've made a short gif animation to illustrate this singular phenomenon.
Note: while making this artistic animation I've came across the most lovely option I ever saw. I was exporting the gif animation and at the "Frame disposal where unspecified" label the selected option was "I don't care".
