When people ask me why I use Linux I usually reply that I like the flexibility which allow almost infinite possibilities.
Then I get a blank stare.
Well, this video sums up pretty well what I'm trying to say:
For us Linux fans it's almost a sacrilege or at least, bad taste.. Often because it brings back horrible memories.
However it demonstrate pretty well how Linux is versatile and, contrary to the popular belief, easy to use.
I think people tend to mix up unknown with difficult.
I think Windows has put the average PC user in a stagnant mindset. It's like Windows users are so afraid to lose data (or I don't know what) that they don't take any chance to try to do anything unknown and thus, learn anything.
I've seen so many times Windows users paralyzed in front of an error message, too scared to take any actions at all.. even if the computer was indicating clearly and precisely steps to follow.
Why ? Just because that error was new for them, hence it necessarily meant something really bad happened.
